Not matched to the APHA Type 2 register

We found this company on an equestrian trade directory but could not match it to the published APHA list of Type 2 long-journey authorised transporters. That does not mean it is not authorised: it may hold Type 1 authorisation, which covers journeys up to eight hours and is not published in the same list, or it may trade under a different registered name.

Ask them directly which authorisation they hold before booking anything over eight hours.

Before you book

Ask which authorisation they hold, Type 1 or Type 2, and match it to your journey time.
Ask whether you are the only pickup. The eight-hour clock starts at the first loading, not yours.
For anything over eight hours, ask about the vehicle approval certificate and individual partitions.
For a border crossing, ask whether they hold EU-issued transport documentation. A UK authorisation is not recognised in the EU.
